About Me
I bought my first camera in 2013 and was self-taught for nearly a decade before receiving formal training under the guidance and expertise of Mr. Jim Payne of Jim Payne Photography, my level of skill was catapulted, and I couldn’t be more grateful (exposure triangle much?).
What began as an online portfolio and showcase in an effort to become a vetted volunteer photographer for BEAR has grown into Velvet Pumpkin Portraits. Giving back is still close to my heart, and you can often find me volunteering or supporting community events from behind the lens.
And yes, the pumpkin theme is intentional. Session packages are named after pumpkin sizes: Jack-Be-Littles for the tiny pumpkins and Cinderella for the grand showstoppers. I’ve always loved this playful nod to pumpkins.
"I would rather sit on a pumpkin and have it all to myself, than be crowded on a
velvet cushion."
-Henry David Thoreau
